Poker Players lose to Religious Conservatives

Have you ever thought you won to find out later you really lost?  Well that's what pretty much just happened to online poker.  Online Poker players banned together across the United States recently to help raise the voice of poker by sharing the thoughts and opinions of hundreds of poker players.

Poker players were expressing themselves on the Republican Party platform website.  Advocates for poker were berating language in the Republican platform that called for a strong prohibition of online gambling.  Online poker players from all over took a breath of relief yesterday when the language in question got removed from the platform.

But the relief was short lived as the language was again back on the platform today.  The return of the language was brought about by religious conservatives of the Republican party.  Religious conservatives made contact with their inside connections and made demands that the language be reinstated and shortly after the language was back in the platform.

The language needs to be removed as part of it isn't true,  "Millions of Americans suffer from problem or pathological gambling that can destroy families," it now says in the platform. "We support legislation prohibiting gambling over the Internet..."

The above statement has angered online poker players all over the United States and many Republicans are now changing their political standing as they thought that the Republican party would stand up for them.  The Republican party was known for protecting individual's rights and small government but some feel that they no longer stand for these ideals.
